What’s the difference between sports massage and deep tissue?

This is a common question I get asked all the time. 

 

A sports massage is generally focused on a certain area, e.g. if you come in with a tight neck, I’ll work on that area and the muscles around that are connected. A sports massage isn’t particularly relaxing and can include some special techniques and stretches. I will always work within your pain threshold and communicate with you at all times.

 

A deep tissue massage can be as firm or light as you require. This is a more relaxing massage.

My clients normally have a full body or back neck and shoulders depending on whether they want some areas more focused on. The pressure is dictated by you, this is your massage!

What if I don’t know what massage I need? 

Not a problem at all. We can chat on the day and discuss your needs or just text me with your concerns and I’ll get back to you.

What happens when I arrive the first time? 

On your first session I'll take you through to my treatment room and do a short consultation. Here we will decide on the best treatment for you. I will then leave the room so you can get undressed and lie on the couch. You will be completely covered at all time except for the area I’m working on. 

At the end of the massage I'll leave the room so you can get dressed.

What should I wear during my massage?

Wear something comfortable. I expect men to wear underwear and women knickers, it’s optional for a bra.

If I'm having mobile what do I need to supply?

Nothing, I come with my couch, my oil and covers. All I need from you is a room with enough space for my couch and for me to move around it.

 

How do I pay? 

I take cash or bank transfer

 

What do I do if I have to cancel?

When using my online booking system you can cancel or move your appointment at anytime. But please note I do have T&C’s  in place that do request 24 hours notice or I will ask you to make a full payment. Saying that I do realise that life happens and sometime it just can’t be helped and you have to cancel last minute in this case please text me and try to give me as much notice as possible. 

 

Is there parking?

Yes, I have plenty of parking space outside my house
